The Ferrari Luce continues to fuel debate across the automotive and motorsport world. Following the mixed reactions that accompanied its official unveiling, Flavio Briatore has now added his voice to the conversation with a remark that is already attracting attention.
“A lot of people ask me what I think about the new Ferrari. If I have to find one positive aspect, I’d say it’s unlikely we’ll ever see a copy coming from China,” joked the Alpine executive advisor.
Briatore’s comments come shortly after former Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo publicly expressed significant doubts about the project, questioning several aspects of Maranello’s first fully electric production car.
Not everyone shares that view, however. Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc have both spoken positively about the Ferrari Luce after experiencing the car firsthand. The seven-time Formula 1 world champion was particularly impressed by the vehicle’s power delivery and the sensations it provides from behind the wheel.
“What impressed me the most was the quality of the driving experience and the feeling it is able to deliver,” Hamilton explained.
Charles Leclerc also praised several of the car’s design solutions, highlighting Ferrari’s decision to bring back a number of physical controls inside the cockpit. The Monegasque driver suggested that these features enhance usability while preserving the engaging character that Ferrari owners expect from the brand.
The Ferrari Luce represents a major step in Maranello’s evolution as the company enters the high-performance electric vehicle segment. Despite the criticism and differing opinions surrounding the project, Ferrari remains confident that the model will combine cutting-edge technology with the driving emotion traditionally associated with the Prancing Horse.
The Ferrari Luce is scheduled to reach customers by the end of 2026 and is expected to carry a starting price of more than $600,000.
