Ferrari, Le Mans as a catalyst for Formula 1
The triumph at Le Mans has shown that a winning Ferrari in 2023 is not just a dream but also a reality. A reality that was accompanied by the myth of the 24 Hours and the magic of the comeback: exactly fifty years later in the premier class, Ferrari triumphed at the Circuit de la Sarthe, dealing a blow to those who had dominated this race in recent years.
Even the most fervent Ferrari fan cannot help but notice the performance difference of the Scuderia between Formula 1 and Endurance racing, yet it is precisely Le Mans that could provide the necessary boost, even psychologically, to regain momentum in Formula 1. This is the hope of the man who stamps the chassis of the most prestigious four-wheeled races in the United States, Giampaolo Dallara.
Giampaolo Dallara’s words
“It is true that Ferrari has not been able to win in Formula 1 for a long time, but we must not underestimate the extraordinary significance of the achievement at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.” – he explained.
“I felt great pride, as an Italian and as someone from Emilia Romagna. We are talking about a true feat. Many thought that Toyota would be unbeatable at Le Mans, or that Porsche would be ahead. Instead, in Maranello they accepted the challenge, started working from a blank sheet, and achieved an exceptional result,” these are Giampaolo Dallara’s comments in an interview for the Italian newspaper Quotidiano Nazionale.

“The hope of everyone is that my Ferrari friends will have the opportunity to achieve further satisfactions, in the 6 Hours of Monza and obviously also in Formula 1.” – concluded the Italian businessman and motorsports engineer.
