Monaco: a great opportunity for Scuderia Ferrari
The Monaco Grand Prix could represent a significant opportunity for Scuderia Ferrari to have a standout weekend following the disappointing start to the 2023 Formula 1 campaign. The advantage that Red Bull has over its rivals in terms of tire degradation in the Principality will not be a factor, as tire degradation is minimal at Monaco, and overtaking is extremely challenging.

As always, qualifying will be crucial on the streets of Monte Carlo and Charles Leclerc is coming off two consecutive pole positions on his home streets (although converting pole position into a race win is always a different matter). The SF-23 has also shown its comfort in slow and tight corners, and as reiterated by the Monegasque driver during yesterday’s charity friendly match at the Stade Louis II, Ferrari will have its cards to play in Monaco.

“Monaco in one word? Adrenalin: that’s the essence of what you get from this track. It’s narrow and bumpy and in order to be quick you have to trust in your feelings. Driving a Formula 1 car here you basically have no time to pause for breath and, in qualifying, when you’re pushing flat-out it’s, as I said, a real adrenalin boost. I don’t think you get the same feeling at any other track and I know that goes for everyone who races here. And it’s particularly special for me as we are racing in the city where I grew up.” – the Monegasque driver added.
