F1 | Ferrari, Vasseur under scrutiny: reflections on a challenging 2025
Growing doubts about Fred Vasseur, seen as too distant from Ferrari’s real problems, emerged in the latest episode of the “Terruzzi Racconta” podcast.
In the most recent episode, Formula 1 journalists and experts Giorgio Terruzzi, Pino Allievi, and Stefano Nicoli focused the spotlight on an increasingly controversial figure at Ferrari: F1 team principal Fred Vasseur. According to the analysts, Ferrari’s inconsistent performance in 2025 has put his role and leadership under intense scrutiny.
Giorgio Terruzzi opened with a sharp comment: “Here we come to the painful notes… it’s always the same, guys, there’s no way around it.” This was a warning aimed especially at the fans, because in his view, promises remain just words. Pino Allievi, while more ironic but optimistic, recalled that Fred Vasseur had assured at the start of the season that at least one win would come: “I trust Vasseur,” he said, referencing the idea that Ferrari could have “ruined” the championship for McLaren and Red Bull.
Giorgio Terruzzi responded firmly, stressing that he does not understand what really drives the team principal in his public statements, adding: “I don’t recall a Ferrari team principal being so ‘shielded’ despite these results, I really don’t.”
Ferrari’s numbers
The podcast took a more critical turn when discussing the numbers: Ferrari sits fourth in the 2025 Constructors’ Championship according to the official standings. Giorgio Terruzzi reminded listeners that in nearly 90 races, Lewis Hamilton has won only twice—and none of these victories were in a Ferrari—data that, in his view, questions the effectiveness of the project under Fred Vasseur’s leadership.
Stefano Nicoli added that Charles Leclerc himself has expressed frustration: the Monegasque reportedly stated that wet-weather problems have persisted for years. This ongoing technical struggle points to the sporting management and the aerodynamic strategies implemented by the team.
The podcast’s final reflection was clear: 2025 has turned Fred Vasseur into a political target, and the upcoming technical and managerial decisions will be decisive for Ferrari’s future.
After 18 years without a drivers’ title and 17 without a constructors’ crown, patience is wearing thinner than ever. As Giorgio Terruzzi put it, promises are no longer enough.
