Lewis Hamilton is disappointed
Apart from the flash of brilliance in the Chinese Sprint, Lewis Hamilton’s season has started off on the wrong foot. The British champion is struggling to find the right feeling with the Ferrari SF-25, appearing clearly disheartened in interviews in Jeddah and with notably lowered expectations. Seventh place in qualifying was actually welcomed as a positive result, given that Lewis Hamilton had spoken about aiming for a top 10 finish, without getting carried away with illusions.
“Today was a disaster, I had no pace and I struggled with the car. I expected a better day,” explained the Ferrari driver to Dazn Spain, while emphasizing his full commitment to trying to turn things around before the next race in Miami on May 4: “I can’t afford to rest. I’ll have to cancel some commitments starting today.”
Fred Vasseur has no doubts about Lewis Hamilton
In the usual post-race press conference where he analyzes Ferrari’s weekend, team principal Frederic Vasseur also addressed the Lewis Hamilton topic: “I’ll be 2000% with him and give him all the support he needs. And we’ll start already tomorrow morning (last Monday, ed.) looking for explanations and solutions. But I’m not too worried, because in China and Bahrain we saw that there is potential.”
