Scuderia Ferrari has decided on an important aerodynamic element for the 2021 Austrian Grand Prix, which takes place this weekend at the Red Bull Ring: the Maranello team impressed positively in the first free practice session with a lighter rear wing than the one with the flat main profile seen last week in the Styrian Grand Prix.
On the SF21 the wing with the spoon profile has reappeared, which allows the possibility to reduce the drag in the two portions closest to the side bulkhead. As a result top speeds have improved on the Reds, as the Maranello team has been able to rely on Pirelli tires with a softer compound that allows for increased grip.
Regarding other updates, Carlos Sainz tested the floor intended for the British Grand Prix, while in the afternoon the solution will be entrusted to Charles Leclerc: Scuderia Ferrari continues the comparative tests by collecting other data on a solution that should increase the vertical load of the floor, pushing with the three deviators to flow the air out of the rear wheels.
