Fred Vasseur: “We focused early on 2026, but we aim for second place with two strong drivers”
Ferrari arrived in Texas following a challenging period that had seen them fall significantly behind Mercedes in the Constructors’ Championship standings. However, at the United States Grand Prix in Austin, the Scuderia bounced back after a difficult start to the weekend, collecting a total of 27 points in the race compared to just 8 points for Mercedes, which finished sixth with George Russell. The championship battle among the top teams has tightened again, with Mercedes, Ferrari, and Red Bull separated by just 10 points.
Team principal Frederic Vasseur is determined to confirm the second-place finish achieved in 2024, relying on the advantage of having two consistently strong drivers, unlike Toto Wolff and Laurent Mekies, who cannot always count on the regularity of Andrea Kimi Antonelli and Yuki Tsunoda. Speaking to Canal+, Fred Vasseur said, “We are three teams within 10 points, so it will be a battle until the very end. We need to take advantage of having two drivers who always score points. Even though we focused early on the 2026 project, we want to finish 2025 in second place.”
