Ferrari struggled to shine during the Belgian Grand Prix Sprint race, and tensions flared further between Charles Leclerc and his race engineer Bryan Bozzi, as revealed by team radio communications. Once again, Ferrari faced challenges with a disappointing performance at the 2025 Belgian Grand Prix Sprint Race, where Charles Leclerc became the focus of a tense radio exchange with his trackside engineer Bryan Bozzi. Here’s what happened between the two during the intense race.
Charles Leclerc finished the Sprint race in fourth place, unable to make any position gains throughout the event. It is important to highlight, however, Leclerc’s strong start, where he managed to overtake Lando Norris right at the beginning. Unfortunately, he could only hold that position for a few laps, as maintaining the McLaren behind proved to be an extremely difficult task due to the performance gap.
Leclerc Silences Bozzi During the Belgian Sprint
Lewis Hamilton, starting from the back, was unable to climb through the field and remained in the rear positions, further confirming Ferrari’s ongoing struggles with race pace. Ferrari’s performance was far off the pace of both McLaren and the dominant Red Bull, with Max Verstappen claiming an almost heroic victory in the Sprint.
Throughout the Sprint race, Bryan Bozzi attempted to provide Charles Leclerc with technical advice aimed at improving his driving and race performance. Bozzi told Leclerc, “We need to load the front to test corner one. We are trying to learn,” continuing to explain the strategies they were implementing. At that moment, however, Leclerc sharply responded, telling Bozzi to stop and saying, “Stop, Bryan, just tell me when it’s the last lap. I need to drive, not learn.”
This interaction highlighted the frustration of the Monegasque driver, who once again had to settle for fourth place with no realistic chance to fight the leading pack. Leclerc’s visible nervousness and impatience perfectly summed up the disappointing Sprint race — a race that could and should have gone much better for both the driver and the Scuderia Ferrari team.
