200 km before the Bahrain pre-season testing session at Sakhir circuit
In a week, Formula 1 teams and drivers will hit the track in Bahrain for the three-day winter tests in preparation for the first event of the season scheduled in Sakhir from Thursday, February 29th, to Saturday, March 2nd.
Today, McLaren and Mercedes will be at Silverstone for the debut of the MCL38 and W15, a track that hosted Red Bull yesterday, and the RB20 will be presented tomorrow. Scuderia Ferrari unveiled the SF-24 single-seater yesterday and has already completed a 15 km shakedown at the Fiorano circui.
The track owned by the Italian side is hosting today’s filming day, a routine check performed by Ferrari, along with other competitors, to ensure everything is functioning correctly on the SF-24 before shipping the cars to Bahrain.
With 200 km at their disposal, Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc each have 33 laps to gather their initial impressions of the new single-seater crafted by the Prancing Horse. Leclerc, after yesterday’s first taste, has already emphasized that the feeling was better than what happened a year ago. Above are images of Carlos Sainz’s driving stint.
