So far, Ferrari seems to have done little in these first months of the 2023 Formula 1 championship. In reality, they have done a lot, but the results will only start to show in the coming weeks. This, in a nutshell, is the plan for the Maranello team. Performance recovery is a serious matter in Formula 1, especially when a highly restrictive regulation becomes the predominant prerogative in the top category of motorsport.
In short, things are getting serious in the upcoming trio of Grand Prix races that will reveal the achievable goals for the Maranello team in the current racing campaign. Winning is no longer possible. It’s an established fact. Red Bull’s dominance, partly hidden as competitors get closer, forbids any dreams of glory.
Furthermore, the path taken by the Prancing Horse will be quite useful not only for the present but also for the future. The foundations have been laid to make the team strong. These foundations will be damn useful to return to past aspirations in the near future: to fight for victory in every race.
The continuous aeromechanical tests carried out during the early rounds of the 2023 F1 championship have served their purpose. The massive collection of data conducted during each practice session has guided the men in red towards the most fruitful path for a dual objective: to correct the unruly SF-23, make it manageable in various aspects, and at the same time, plan the work for the 2024 World Championship.
Ferrari: The Formula 1 Racing Division consolidates
The right person to bring about change does not exist. To put it better, an individual, no matter how capable, will never be able to single-handedly bring a team back into the spotlight without unity of purpose. That’s why a cohesive working group is needed. Frederic Vasseur, a Frenchman from Draveil who has been catapulted into the world of Ferrari, knows this very well. He has taken the necessary time to initiate a comprehensive restructuring of the company.

Perhaps not everyone believes in him. Some argue that he doesn’t have enough experience to lead such an important restructuring process. But the Frenchman, as previously mentioned by Formula Uno Analisi Tecnica, enjoys full trust, starting with the management. The same goes for engineers and drivers.
But as mentioned, it certainly doesn’t all depend on him. That’s why the famous phrase “closing ranks,” embraced by all members of the team, makes us understand how determined the historic Italian team is to change course. They have already done it, they are doing it, and they will continue to do so.
The confirmation of what has been said comes from Charles Leclerc himself. The Monegasque driver confirms the thesis we expressed earlier regarding the tasks carried out since the beginning of the 2023 Formula One season and those that will soon begin. “The majority of the work,” says the Ferrari driver, “will come from now on.” The ideas are clear.
Ferrari: updates and understanding of the car
To regain ground in this Formula 1 season, multiple efforts must be made. It is also true that when a car is not working properly, fixing it could mean taking a significant step forward. Perhaps even surpassing those who are already racing at high speeds. This, to some extent, is Scuderia Ferrari’s hope.
The evolutionary step that will come in the next few weeks stems from a thorough study of the SF-23 single-seater. After identifying and theoretically solving the issues, the necessary confirmations are expected on the track through the “validation” of the updates. Transforming the context from subjective to objective in order to make intentions factual.
We recently discussed the measures taken. The dedicated writing does not aim to reveal in detail the updates we will observe on the Ferrari single-seaters, as they are “top secret” solutions. However, we know the areas of intervention on which the efforts have been focused, combined with the prerogatives that Ferrari has identified as crucial. Some are betting on these choices, guiding car number 16, and, of course, they have been informed about everything, as confirmed by Formula 1 expert Alessandro Arcari for the Italian website FUnoanalisitecnica.
We are always talking about Charles, who is confident that the changes made will not be the only strong point in recalibrating the SF-23. The Ferrari driver knows the Italian car inside out. He knows what it can offer when the operational window is hit. From this simple, well-argued reasoning by Charles Leclerc, at least the conviction to get serious again arises.
