The words of team principal Fred Vasseur ahead of the weekend
Ferrari’s team principal Fred Vasseur has analysed some key aspects that could prove decisive in the Netherlands. The Scuderia seems to have made improvements in one area that created several problems during the first part of the season: qualifying. Charles Leclerc himself appears to have rediscovered his confidence, as shown by the pole position he claimed in Belgium.
Fred Vasseur spoke on the eve of Zandvoort:
“After the summer break, which gave the team and the drivers the chance to recharge their batteries, we are back on track and ready to tackle a very intense final part of the season. In the Netherlands we want to maintain the positive momentum we built up in the last few races, where we made progress in terms of competitiveness. Charles and Lewis are ready and the team is fully focused, determined to put them in the best possible position to achieve strong results. This weekend, that means starting from qualifying, which is particularly crucial at Zandvoort given how difficult overtaking is on this circuit.”
Expectations for Ferrari at Zandvoort
The expectations at the beginning of the 2025 season were much higher, but the Maranello team has not given up and has improved its performance step by step. While Ferrari has not yet managed to match McLaren, it has managed to stay ahead of Mercedes for now. Finding a solution to its qualifying issues could be decisive on tracks like Zandvoort, where overtaking opportunities are extremely limited.
