The Ferrari season on the track officially begins. On the morning of Monday, January 29, the SF-75 hit the track for the first testing session of the season. On the Barcelona circuit, behind the wheel of the 2022 car that led Ferrari to win four races, is Arthur Leclerc, making his debut as an official driver with the Maranello team.
In recent days, Ferrari officially confirmed its choice for reserve drivers. Joining Robert Shwartzman and Antonio Giovinazzi are Arthur Leclerc and Oliver “Ollie” Bearman. The two young drivers were teammates in the Ferrari Driver Academy.

However, after mediocre results in F2 last season, Arthur Leclerc was not renewed in the FDA. On the other hand, his teammate Oliver Bearman will continue his ascent towards F1 with the Prema team, confirmed for the 2024 season alongside the new entry Andrea Kimi Antonelli, a member of the Mercedes Academy.
Despite being excluded from the FDA, the young Leclerc received a significant confirmation and will be available to Ferrari throughout the 2024 season as a reserve driver and test driver. The Monegasque driver will be involved in the team’s development alongside his older brother, Charles.
In Maranello, they wanted to show their full confidence in the number 14 by allowing him to hit the track with the SF-75. For Leclerc, it’s a baptism of fire. As stated in the social media posts of the Maranello team: “You will never forget your first time.”
Moreover, for the young Monegasque, it is his very first time behind the wheel of a Formula 1 car.
