Ferrari happy with reliability and fuel consumption amid PU2 update. Ferrari happy with reliability and fuel consumption amid PU2 update.

A few days ago, Motorsport Italy reported some rumors regarding Scuderia Ferrari’s plan for the first development updates, especially on the power unit side, informing that a new updated hybrid part [MGU-K, battery, CE] is set to debut in the Miami Grand Prix, while the second engine for the 2022 Formula 1 season will be introduced on the F1-75 car at the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona.

Automotive industry journalist Roberto Chinchero, in a recent discussion with Franco Nugnes, Editor in chief of Motorsport.com Italy, provided some updates on Ferrari’s plans for the next races, confirming the Maranello team could bring some power unit news to Miami.

The hybrid upgrade is set to give Ferrari a performance boost and obviously the customer teams, Haas and Alfa Romeo will also have the upgrade available at the same time. The Italian journalists seem certain that the hybrid system upgrade will arrive for the second power unit (so at the latest it would be in Barcelona with PU2). They confirmed that Ferrari is satisfied with the feedback gathered from the first three races so the second engine will definitely come in Spain, but they mentioned that the new upgraded hybrid part could be brought forward to Miami.

Roberto Chinchero, in the video published by Motorsport Italy, said that the Scuderia Ferrari engineers are happy because the F1-75 car is fast and there are no concerns regarding reliability and fuel consumption.
