F1 | “Elkann out of Ferrari!” The attack from an Italian politician
A new controversy shakes the Ferrari environment. Carlo Calenda, leader of the Azione party, published a harsh post on X targeting John Elkann, president of Scuderia Ferrari and Stellantis. The politician openly criticized Ferrari’s management, citing financial data and sporting results as evidence of a leadership crisis.
Calenda on X: “Elkann lacks the skills to manage Ferrari!”
In his message, Calenda wrote: “I note that yesterday, following #Elkann’s presentation to the financial market, @ScuderiaFerrari lost 13%. I add that the Maranello team has not won a race so far in the 2025 F1 championship. Maserati is already dead. Let’s avoid yet another disaster. Elkann objectively lacks the management skills to remain at the top. Perhaps the other shareholders should intervene and ask him to step aside. #ElkannOUT.”
Disaster for Ferrari on the stock market
Yesterday, Ferrari’s stock experienced a 13% drop on the market. This decline was due to the negative reaction from investors following the presentation of quarterly results and the industrial plan illustrated by John Elkann. According to Carlo Calenda, this reflects a lack of confidence in the current management. The presentation included the announcement of Ferrari’s first 100% electric model, which investors saw as conflicting with their expectations.
Calenda’s words quickly ignited debate on social media, dividing fans and observers. On one side, some support the call for a leadership change, while others defend Elkann, highlighting the economic successes and the symbolic value of the Ferrari brand globally. When Elkann arrived at Ferrari, the stock was just over €120, whereas today it is well above €300.
