Scuderia Ferrari has revealed further details about what could be the new livery for the 2026 season, with a colour from the team’s past seemingly making a comeback.
Less than a week remains until the official presentation of the SF-26, the new single-seater designed by Ferrari’s engineers in Maranello to compete in the Formula 1 World Championship. While waiting for the full unveiling, Ferrari released a video on its social media channels showing some early details of what may be the 2026 livery. The video offers a first glimpse of the colours and hints at a particularly notable return.
Ferrari SF-26, the debut is getting closer
Inside the factory, everything appears to be ready for the first on-track appearance, scheduled for January 23 at the Fiorano circuit, immediately after the new livery is revealed to the public. Two days ago, Scuderia Ferrari also shared the first fire-up of the new power unit, further increasing anticipation around the project.
Expectations are understandably high for this new car, especially in light of the bitter 2025 season that left the team well short of its ambitions. For this reason, Ferrari has chosen to keep a low profile, avoiding bold statements and deliberately keeping expectations in check among fans who, regardless of recent results, continue to stand firmly behind their team.
The 2026 livery: first details emerge
Through the video published on its official social channels, Ferrari revealed several intriguing details that could feature on the SF-26 livery. What immediately stands out is that the iconic Ferrari red appears to be slightly lighter than the shade used on last season’s car. In addition, white sections seem set to make a major return across the bodywork.
This colour scheme was present on several cars designed by Ferrari engineers in previous years before disappearing completely from 2019 onwards. White made a subtle reappearance in 2025 as a background for the HP logo, but the indications now suggest a far more prominent role. Among the more recent examples is the SF16-H, which featured a large white area at the rear of the car along with additional white details on the front wing.
To see the full design of Ferrari’s new livery and confirm these early clues, fans will have to wait until Friday, January 23, when the SF-26 is officially unveiled.
The hints dropped by Ferrari regarding a lighter red and the return of white accents suggest a livery that honors the legendary 312T era of the 1970s. As the team prepares for the new Formula 1 rules, this “retro” aesthetic could symbolize a bridge between Ferrari’s storied past and its high-tech 2026 future. With the Fiorano debut just days away, the SF-26 isn’t just carrying a new engine—it’s carrying a visual identity that aims to reconnect the Tifosi with the glory days of the Scuderia.
