Ferrari has officially denied reports of an internal dispute between team principal Frédéric Vasseur and head of track engineering Matteo Togninalli, putting to rest rumors of tension at Maranello. However, questions surrounding Charles Leclerc’s mood and comments remain a topic of discussion as the team prepares for the United States Grand Prix.
No clash between Ferrari leaders
Just days before the race in Austin, the Formula 1 paddock has been buzzing over a so-called “Ferrari case” related to the Singapore Grand Prix weekend. According to the Warm Up podcast by FormulaPassion, the story originated from an article by journalist Fulvio Solms published in Corriere dello Sport and Autosprint. The report suggested that a heated exchange had erupted between Fred Vasseur and Matteo Togninalli in the Ferrari garage after qualifying, sparking speculation about friction at the top of the team.
Ferrari’s press office, however, has strongly refuted the claims. As explained by Salvo Sardina on the podcast, the Scuderia stated that no argument had taken place, describing the report as a case of “particular imagination” on the part of the source. The supposed confrontation was entirely fabricated and never actually occurred.
Leclerc’s frustrations remain a topic
While the alleged dispute between Fred Vasseur and Matteo Togninalli has been dismissed, attention has shifted to Charles Leclerc. Sardina pointed out that Solms’ original article also mentioned a level of internal dissatisfaction linked to the Monegasque driver. Following a challenging Grand Prix in Singapore, where Charles Leclerc finished outside the podium, he reportedly expressed repeated frustration with the performance and competitiveness of the SF-25.
According to some reports, several engineers within the team were reportedly unsettled by Leclerc’s repeated critiques, which were perceived by some as overly harsh or potentially demotivating. Ferrari, however, has neither confirmed nor denied these details, keeping any internal discussions private while focusing on upcoming races.
Team atmosphere under observation
For now, there are no visible rifts within Maranello, but the team’s atmosphere is being carefully monitored. With the United States Grand Prix just ten days away, Ferrari must regain calm and focus to maximize results. Every point will be crucial in the closing stages of the season, as the Scuderia continues its intense battle with Red Bull and Mercedes for championship positions.
Maintaining cohesion and addressing internal tensions quietly will be key for Ferrari as it aims to finish the season strongly, ensuring both Fred Vasseur’s leadership and Charles Leclerc’s performance remain aligned for the team’s success in the final races of the year.
