The wait is becoming increasingly intense. After Red Bull, Racing Bulls and Haas—and with Audi scheduled for tomorrow—Friday 23 January will be Ferrari’s turn to at least unveil the livery for the upcoming season, before heading to Barcelona for pre-season testing from 26 to 30 January.
Earlier today, the Scuderia offered a further hint by revealing the new driver race suits for the season. The stronger presence of white is almost certain to be reflected on the SF-26 as well, allowing the overall design to blend more harmoniously with the blue of title sponsor HP.
Confirmation has now arrived from Maranello that Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton will get their first taste of the new car—and the new power unit—on Friday 23 January at Fiorano, maintaining a tradition that has been almost constant throughout Ferrari’s history.
The Monegasque driver and the seven-time world champion will be fully focused on working with the car from the very first day, even skipping the customary media duties. A clear signal that Ferrari intend to maximize every available kilometre ahead of the crucial Barcelona test, as preparations for the 2026 Formula 1 season enter a decisive phase.
