
“F1 – the movie”, the global hit starring Brad Pitt, is now opening the door to a brand-new chapter. Apple has reportedly expressed its readiness to produce a sequel to the Formula 1-themed film. The recent movie, directed by Joseph Kosinski and featuring Brad Pitt, captivated audiences around the world and surpassed 630 million dollars at the box office. The gripping story centered on APXGP driver Sonny Hayes sparked strong interest among fans, to the point where work on a new chapter has already begun.
Confirmations about the sequel
Kosinski explained to Variety that he has begun exploring the possible direction for the second film. “We’re in that stage where we are just imagining what the next chapter for Sonny Hayes and APXGP could be. Based on the global reaction, it’s something people want to see. I’d be happy to bring it back.”
The strong audience response has pushed Apple to seriously consider moving the story forward. Apple CEO Tim Cook confirmed the excitement surrounding a potential sequel. “It’s definitely something we are talking about. It was a huge summer blockbuster for us. We’re very proud of it. The talent involved is top-tier.”
The role of Lewis Hamilton in the possible new chapter
A key element of the franchise could once again be Lewis Hamilton, who served as an executive producer on the first film. The seven-time Formula 1 world champion, who also made a brief cameo appearance in the original movie, has reportedly already taken part in meetings with Apple to evaluate the expansion of the F1 project.
Recent screenings in London have further confirmed the continued interest in developing a new chapter of “F1 – the movie”.
