Lewis Hamilton’s experience with Ferrari, which began amid high expectations, continues to be marked by considerable frustration. The English driver is still struggling to find the right feeling with the SF-25, which, after a difficult Friday, underwent a complete transformation on Saturday. This was particularly evident in the performance of his teammate Charles Leclerc, who secured third place after battling throughout the race with Lando Norris in the McLaren.
In Austin, Hamilton was never really in contention. He maintained fourth place from start to finish, unable to put pressure on Lando Norris while the Briton was attacking Charles Leclerc. By the time the second stint began, the seven-time world champion found himself in no-man’s land: far from the drivers ahead and holding a comfortable gap over Oscar Piastri, who was pursuing him. In the final laps, Lewis Hamilton also faced some issues, which fortunately did not compromise his position.
However, with this result, Hamilton has rewritten a negative record in Ferrari’s history. By finishing fourth in Austin, the English driver becomes the Ferrari driver with the most races without reaching a podium, surpassing Didier Pironi, who had stopped at 18 Grands Prix.
Yet, there are still some opportunities ahead. Upcoming circuits are traditionally strong for Hamilton, including Mexico and, especially, Interlagos in Brazil, where Lewis Hamilton has made history. Even Las Vegas cannot be ruled out; based on the circuit layout and characteristics, it could potentially suit the SF-25 and the English driver’s style.
