F1 leaves Europe and heads to Canada, to Montreal: here are the race times and broadcast schedule, after a one-week break
F1 says goodbye to Europe and flies to Canada: here is the race week schedules for the Montreal Grand Prix, where the time zone changes once again. It’s traditionally an intermediate stop that splits the summer calendar of the season, which is held almost entirely in the Old Continent. Two weeks after Barcelona, the action returns at the circuit named after Gilles Villeneuve, where Max Verstappen has won for the past three years.
After the European triple-header – with the Grands Prix of Imola, Monte Carlo, and Barcelona – Formula 1 takes a one-week break. A pause that will allow the teams to regroup, recharge, and then return ready to battle in Montreal. A very fast circuit, often the scene of unpredictable races or ones influenced by adverse weather, as happened in 2011 (when Jenson Button won).
The Canadian track is also one of Lewis Hamilton’s favorites: the Ferrari driver has won here seven times, matching Michael Schumacher’s record. It’s the perfect opportunity to give new momentum to his journey with Maranello, perhaps regaining some confidence in the car. In the last three years, however, Montreal has been Red Bull and Max Verstappen territory: since the introduction of ground effect, the Dutchman has won all three editions held.
Montreal will be a crucial stop for this championship. With McLaren clearly ahead of its rivals, the time to mount a comeback is rapidly shrinking. While Max Verstappen is the main rival to Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris, Ferrari cannot be counted out just yet. The final word will come from the track.
