After the summer break, Formula 1 is back on track. The sport is heading to the back-to-back races in the Netherlands and Monza. Two tracks with different characteristics that could reveal a lot about the developments teams are likely to introduce.
At Ferrari, a new and particularly significant package of updates appears to be in the final stages. These novelties, which are expected to debut in the Netherlands, are planned to be used in races starting from Monza.
In this context, Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur, in a session dedicated to selected media outlets, shared his thoughts on the update work for the SF-23 single-seater and how these developments could benefit the 2024 car.
Ferrari 2024: “Completely different project”
First and foremost, the French manager wanted to emphasize that next year’s car will be significantly different from the one used in the 2023 Formula One season.
“The project for 2024 will be different,” clarified Fred Vasseur. “We will certainly carry over something from one car to another, but the project is, in fact, completely different.”

Going into more detail, the Ferrari team principal explained that the SF-23 and next year’s car will not share the same chassis: “The 2024 project is completely different; we will have some carry-over between the two cars, but it won’t involve the chassis and bodywork.”
As for future developments, the team principal confirmed: “We still have a few updates in the pipeline before the end of the season.”
