There is great expectation for the unveiling of the latest Formula 1 car made in Maranello, which, in the intentions of the Ferrari top management and in the hopes of the many Ferrari fans, should be the one capable of constantly allowing the Italian side to challenge Mercedes and Red Bull for pole positions and race wins. The new car will be entrusted for a second consecutive season to the duo formed by Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz. In the traditional meeting with journalists at the end of the 2021 championship, the head of Sports Management, Mattia Binotto, had indicated a potential date for the presentation of the new single-seater between 16 and 18 February 2022, date which was now officially confirmed to be Thursday 17, just a few days before the track debut that will take place at the Circuit de Catalunya the following week, in the first pre-season testing session.
From the pages of Corriere dello Sport, thanks to an article written by journalist Fulvio Solms, other details of the event “which will directly involve the fans” were revealed: the new Ferrari Formula 1 car “will be unveiled in a video broadcast simultaneously on the site and on the various social media accounts of the Maranello team. Between 17 and 23 February – the starting date of the first testing session in Barcelona – Ferrari will complete the first 100 km allowed by the regulation as part of the filming days, while the first firing up of the power unit on the car is generically placed “at the beginning of February”.
