Some images on social media have shown the crew of the film “Apex,” starring Brad Pitt, while they were filming the Ferrari SF-23 car of Charles Leclerc. Above all, the film showcases the driver in his race car, with a particular focus on his eyes.
The film, produced among others by Lewis Hamilton, will be presented on Apple TV screens in 2024 and will be entirely dedicated to the world of racing.
In recent months, we have been able to witness the constant presence of the Hollywood team, bustling in the paddock to bring a touch of reality to the cinematic narrative. After the confirmation that Hamilton’s dog, Roscoe, would have a role in the film, many wondered if the same fate would befall the drivers.
Very little is known about “Apex,” but the minimal plot suggests that some drivers might be seen on the screen. The protagonist is a driver from the 1990s, Sonny Hayes (played by Brad Pitt), who returns to the track after a serious accident. He does so to help his protege Joshua Pearce, portrayed by Damson Idris, in the team owned by Oscar winner Javier Bardem. Given that many scenes were shot on the track, it is likely that other drivers will also be featured. Probably Leclerc, given the photos that have been released, but Hamilton could also be involved, given his significant role in the film’s production.
