Invited to play in the Ryder Cup taking place in Rome, Scuderia Ferrari Spanish driver Carlos Sainz “commented” on the state of his contract renewal with the Maranello team. The Spaniard was at the Marco Simone golf club to participate in the All-Star Match, a charity event celebrating the historic Ryder Cup’s arrival in Italy.
Intercepted by SkySport microphones, Carlos Sainz was asked if there were any updates regarding his contract renewal with Scuderia Ferrari. With his head down, he appears to shake his head, then promptly walks away from the journalist.
Until August, things seemed to be progressing quite well, with Frederic Vasseur reassuring everyone by stating his intention to continue with the Charles Leclerc – Carlos Sainz duo beyond the 2024 Formula 1 championship. Just a month ago, the team principal had told the Italian and international media that “Carlos and I are completely aligned. We always get the same question, and we always give the same answer. We have time to discuss, and we have 18 months ahead of us. Both of us want to start the next season with a clear situation. This means we need to act and decide before the end of this season.” – the French manager explained at that moment.
