Watch as Scuderia Ferrari Monegasque driver Charles Leclerc stars in the latest ad for the Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses:
At today’s Connect event in Menlo Park, Meta unveiled its latest smart glasses. Interestingly, the Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses are in line for an upcoming software update in the next year. This “multi-modal” update will introduce intriguing real-world features, such as the ability to recognize landmarks in your surroundings and translate signs.
While it may not deliver the live voice translation capabilities that Google once promised for its as-yet-unreleased smart glasses a few years ago, this update certainly indicates the direction in which these types of glasses are evolving to become more capable. Given the absence of a head-up display, most of the device’s functionality relies on voice commands to execute tasks.
