Charles Leclerc produced a truly brilliant lap. In tomorrow’s race, the opening laps with DRS will be crucial to try and challenge for the lead. Charles Leclerc’s comments
After finishing qualifying in second position, Charles Leclerc shared his thoughts. Ferrari’s updates appear to be working as hoped, with Lewis Hamilton also confirming the team’s progress by taking fourth place. Charles Leclerc will start right behind Norris and is expected to attempt a move for the lead early in the race.
“I’m very happy. It’s been a long time since I started on the front row—since Monaco. The team keeps pushing. We brought new parts this weekend and they’ve made a difference. Looking at the gaps, everyone is very close. I’m really pleased with my lap; it was a good start to the weekend. We have a better car in race trim and we hope to put McLaren under pressure tomorrow.” – the Monegasque driver pointed out.
“We don’t have the car to challenge Norris outright. I don’t want to take anything away from Lando’s performance. I’m sure he did an incredible lap—I haven’t seen it yet because I just got out of the car. Congrats to him, I’ll definitely watch it. He deserves it, and tomorrow we’ll try to make it hard for him.” – the Ferrari driver concluded.
