Charles Leclerc on 2025: The truth about his “invisible” performances with Ferrari. Charles Leclerc reflects on Ferrari’s 2025 season.

Charles Leclerc, Ferrari, 2025 F1

Charles Leclerc has shared his honest assessment of Ferrari’s 2025 season, also giving his opinion on his own performances, which he describes as “invisible” due to the car’s limitations.

The Monegasque driver raced at an incredibly high level throughout 2025, demonstrating remarkable determination and consistency in the most critical moments. Here is Charles Leclerc’s perspective on Ferrari’s season and how his strong performances often became “invisible” because of the SF-25’s lack of competitiveness.

Charles Leclerc has achieved only six podiums this year. Yet, reviewing the races where he managed to bring the Ferrari into the top three, each one represents a standout performance. Formula 1 is a sport with a short memory, where only the most recent result seems to matter. In Austin, he delivered another masterclass in driving, defending on the edge against Lando Norris’s fast McLaren. Leclerc held his ground until lap 51 of 56, before he was inevitably forced to let the papaya car pass. Charles says he is satisfied with his performance, but the results do not reflect his skill, which remains a frustrating reality.

Leclerc: “No one notices when you race in the middle of nowhere”

“I think I’ve delivered very, very strong performances, and I’m really happy with the season I’ve had,” Leclerc said. “It’s always difficult to judge a championship because it’s very much tied to the results you achieve in what you’re fighting for. Unfortunately, there have been some very strong performances that somehow went unnoticed, because no one notices when you’re racing in the middle of nowhere, fighting for fifth place: not battling the top cars nor those in the midfield.”

The Ferrari driver is completely right. Charles Leclerc consistently pushed to the limit in every single race, bringing his car to podiums it technically shouldn’t have reached. The clearest example was the SF-1000 season, where Ferrari was often the first car behind Max Verstappen and the two Mercedes. The reality is that this year, the SF-25 should have been on par with the McLaren, but design errors in Maranello prevented this. The Charles Leclerc we have seen in 2025 represents his best version. His development is complete; now he just needs a car capable of letting him perform at his absolute best.

“In that sense, it was sometimes a bit frustrating. On the other hand, the best thing I can do is be honest with myself, look at my performances, and I am happy with how I am doing. That doesn’t mean I’m not pushing to do better; I continue to push as hard as possible to improve in every weak spot or area where I need to grow.”
