A start to the 2023 Formula 1 season
On a sporting level, the start of the 2023 Formula One season for Charles Leclerc has been rather disappointing. The Monegasque driver has only collected six points for Ferrari in the first three races of the new championship, resulting from his seventh-place finish in Saudi Arabia, the second race of the season. In Bahrain and Australia, on the other hand, the Ferrari man was not able to reach the checkered flag, as his races ending early with two disappointing retirements. This negative period is linked to the many difficult moments Charles Leclerc has faced on the track since 2020, due in part to a car that – apart from the first half of the 2022 Formula 1 season – has never really lived up to his ambitions.
Musical release
Perhaps for this reason, the #16 idol of the Ferrari fans has tried to focus on other aspects. Obviously, the chosen hobby has been music, always a much-loved pastime of the Monegasque driver, and in particular, the piano. That Charles Leclerc loved and still loves to play the piano during his free time is not anything new. But this time, the Ferrari man wanted to take it up a notch. The Monegasque driver has announced the official release of his first single.
First single
Since yesterday morning, the solo piano composition, AUS23 (1:1), is available for listening on all major music platforms. The 4 minute and 11-second piece is one that Charles Leclerc himself actively promoted on his social media profiles, complete with a short black and white video clip shared on Instagram, which shows him playing the piano. Charles Leclerc thus follows in the footsteps of Lewis Hamilton, known not only for his success on the track but also for his numerous extracurricular interests, including music.
Market rumors
In recent months, there have also been numerous rumors surrounding Charles Leclerc (and Lewis Hamilton). The 25-year-old Monegasque has a contract with Ferrari that will expire at the end of the 2024 Formula One, but rumors of his possible move to Mercedes in the event of the seven-time world champion’s retirement at the end of the current championship have not been lacking. Charles Leclerc’s intention is actually to finally win his first world title at the wheel of Ferrari. However, this requires a step up from the Maranello team and who knows, maybe his musical passion and hobby can help him be patient a bit longer.
