Charles Leclerc extends Ferrari contract: “I couldn’t be happier, it’s more than a team”. Charles Leclerc has officially extended his contract with Ferrari.

Charles Leclerc, Ferrari, 2026 F1

Charles Leclerc and Ferrari have officially confirmed a new contract extension, strengthening one of the most significant partnerships in modern Formula 1. The agreement ensures that the Monegasque driver will remain a key part of the Scuderia’s future plans as Ferrari continues its pursuit of championship success.

Charles Leclerc first joined Ferrari in 2019 and quickly established himself as one of the team’s central figures. With this latest renewal, the 2027 Formula 1 season will mark his ninth campaign racing in Ferrari colours, underlining the long-term commitment between driver and team.

Interestingly, the 28-year-old was not approaching the end of his previous contract. However, both Ferrari and the Monegasque driver chose to make a clear statement ahead of the Monaco Grand Prix weekend: their relationship remains stronger than ever, and both sides are fully committed to continuing their journey together.

“I couldn’t be happier to continue this journey with Scuderia Ferrari HP, which for me is much more than a team. It is the team I have always loved and dreamed of being part of since I was a child and, after all these years, it has become a second family to me.”

The emotional message reflects the deep connection Charles Leclerc has developed with Ferrari throughout his career. Few drivers on the current Formula 1 grid share such a strong personal bond with the team they represent, making this extension particularly meaningful for both parties.

“Together we have shared incredible moments and more difficult ones, but I believe in the Scuderia more than ever and I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to continue fighting for our common goal, which is to bring the world championship back to Maranello.

“Being a Ferrari driver is a dream, but it is also a responsibility that I never take for granted. I will continue to give everything I have to bring the Scuderia back where it belongs, at the very top, for everyone who works in Maranello and especially for the fans, whose passion is the beating heart of this team.”

Since arriving at Ferrari, Charles Leclerc has become one of the most recognizable faces of the Scuderia. He has delivered race victories, pole positions and memorable performances while carrying the expectations of millions of Ferrari supporters around the world.

The contract extension also reinforces Ferrari’s confidence in its current project and its belief that Charles Leclerc remains the ideal driver to lead the team into Formula 1’s next era. With Lewis Hamilton also part of Ferrari’s lineup, the Scuderia enters the coming seasons with one of the strongest driver pairings on the grid.

For Ferrari fans, the message is simple: Charles Leclerc’s story in red is far from over, and both driver and team remain united in their ambition to return the Formula 1 world championship to Maranello.
