Scuderia Ferrari Monegasque driver Charles Leclerc will bid farewell to his Maranello teammate Carlos Sainz at the end of the year, only to find Lewis Hamilton in Ferrari from 2025. An unexpected transition that weighs heavily on the Monegasque driver: having a seven-time world champion as a teammate is not an easy feat.
After a week of bizarre events in the world of Formula 1 (not only related to the Briton’s arrival), the #16 driver breaks his silence on the upcoming season. It will be the last one that sees him paired with the Spaniard.
“We have a very special relationship,” Charles Leclerc said about Carlos Sainz in an interview with the DailyMail. “Obviously, we are friends outside the track as well. We spend nice moments. I see Carlos more than my family because this year we have 24 races.” – he added.
Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz have been teammates since 2021. Despite some tense moments on the track, a healthy competition has developed between the two, and their relationship extends beyond Formula 1 work.
Ferrari will unveil the SF-24 on February 13. Charles Leclerc’s goal, coming off a not-so-brilliant season for the Scuderia, is still to win the championship. To achieve this, he and the team need to beat Red Bull.

“I’m super excited because there is so much work to be done,” the Monegasque stated. “We started developing the new car many months ago, first in the simulator, then we’ll see it physically.” Charles Leclerc has already seen an initial model of the SF-24; the final one will be revealed during the presentation.

“There are many question marks,” he admitted, explaining: “We drove the car virtually, but then we need to see if it corresponds to reality.” – the Monegasque concluded.
Ferrari might try to capitalize on the chaos within Red Bull. As we informed you, Christian Horner has been accused of inappropriate behavior toward one of his employees. A decision on his conduct will be made shortly, and in any case, before the start of the 2024 Formula 1 season.
