The Bahrain GP will be a very important test for the Ferrari team led by Fred Vasseur. The Maranello team returns to the track that opened the 2025 season after three disappointing races and few points collected.
In this context, being able to compare the data from the three days of testing with those that will be gathered over the weekend in Sakhir will allow the Prancing Horse to understand whether the direction taken is the right one or not. The fourth race of the season will also feature the first updates to the SF-25. The hope of the Maranello engineers is that at least some of the problems seen so far on the cars of Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton can be resolved.
Fred Vasseur also emphasized how crucial the work of Dino Beganovic will be. The young talent from the Ferrari Driver Academy will take to the track in place of Charles Leclerc during FP1. It will be his absolute debut in a free practice session, and he will need to provide key feedback regarding the SF-25’s setup.
Fred Vasseur reveals Ferrari’s plan
“The fact that the fourth race of the season is taking place in Bahrain allows us to measure the progress made in managing the SF-25 compared to the tests a month and a half ago,” said the Team Principal of Ferrari. “We know we’re still lacking some performance to fight with McLaren, and we believe we especially need to improve in terms of balance optimization.”
“That’s exactly what we’ll focus on in Sakhir, also thanks to the support of those working back in Maranello. We need to take care of every single detail throughout the weekend, aware that every tenth gained can allow us to stay ahead of our rivals,” Fred Vasseur added.
Leaving Bahrain with a good result could reignite enthusiasm within the Ferrari camp, which has been disappointed by this start to 2025. After the pre-season celebrations, the Tifosi did not expect to fall so far behind McLaren and are now loudly demanding an immediate turnaround.
