Kimi Antonelli stretches championship lead to 66 points
Andrea Kimi Antonelli’s seventh victory of the year lifted him to 267 points and increased his advantage over George Russell to 66 points. Russell finished second at Monza and now holds the same position in the Drivers’ Championship on 201 points.
Lewis Hamilton, meanwhile, could only recover to sixth place in the race and now sits third in the standings with 191 points. The Ferrari driver remains 76 points behind Antonelli after a dramatic Italian Grand Prix in which he had earlier charged from eighth to third following the restart.
Lando Norris follows in fourth on 171 points, while Charles Leclerc remains fifth with 155 after failing to score at Monza. Max Verstappen is sixth on 127, ahead of Oscar Piastri on 116.
Yuki Tsunoda scores first championship point
Further down the order, Yuki Tsunoda’s tenth-place finish was enough to earn the Japanese driver a single championship point, putting him 20th in the standings.
With Monza completed, the championship now moves on to the next round of the 2026 Formula 1 calendar. Antonelli has built a substantial advantage, but several races remain before the Drivers’ Championship is mathematically decided.
