With qualifying over in Japan, it’s time to focus on the third round of the F1 season: here is the starting grid and the penalties ahead of the Grand Prix, with Max Verstappen on pole position. Suzuka will be the last Asian stop in this first part of the season, which will soon head towards Europe. The race will start at 7:00 AM Central European Summer Time on Sunday morning.
After a one-week break, Formula 1 returns to the track in the splendid setting of Suzuka. A historic and spectacular circuit that puts both drivers and cars to the test. An important challenge for teams like McLaren, who want to continue dominating the season, and for others like Ferrari, looking for redemption. After Japan, attention will shift to Bahrain and Jeddah, for a triple-header that will weigh heavily on the championship.
The session was rich in key talking points: there’s Max Verstappen’s pole position, but also yet another disappointment for Red Bull. Following the swap between Yuki Tsunoda and Liam Lawson, both were eliminated in Q2, but the New Zealander outqualified his former Japanese teammate. Ferrari, instead, is focusing on the race: the goal is to shake off the ghosts of Shanghai and score important points.
