There is much anticipation for the unveiling of the new Scuderia Ferrari car for the 2024 Formula 1 championship, set to be revealed on February 13th, whose name has not yet been officially confirmed.
Three weeks remain until the launch of the new Ferrari, tasked with redeeming a 2023 with few highlights and many shadows, despite the significant growth towards the end of the season that revived the ambitions of the prancing horse.
Unlike last year, there won’t be grand proclamations, and the presentation will be in a low-profile style. The Maranello team will unveil the car via live streaming on February 13th, followed immediately by its debut on the Fiorano track for the first shakedown.
According to the current schedule of car unveilings, Ferrari will be the sixth team to showcase their car publicly, with Stake and Williams being the first to reveal their cars on February 5th.
While we already know everything about the date and location of the presentation, it is still unclear what the official name for the 676 project will be.
According to some rumors, the choice could come down to two options: the first would see continuity with the recent past if the team decides to adopt the designation SF-24. The second hypothesis is more intriguing, with the designation F2024, harking back to the names of Michael Schumacher‘s Ferraris in the 2000s.
The Maranello team decided to adopt this nomenclature from 2000 to 2008, with the exception of the 248 F1 in 2006, the last car driven by the Kaiser before hanging up his helmet. Unfortunately, he lost the title against Fernando Alonso at Suzuka due to an engine failure. A nostalgic nod to the past that would give fans hope for a 2024 Formula 1 season, at least played out as a protagonist.
