As the calendar turns, Formula 1 teams are gearing up to unveil their latest cars, marking the commencement of a fresh season of competition. This brings forth a wave of anticipation, excitement, and a spectrum of hopes and ambitions that reverberate throughout the grid.
The rebranding of the Hinwil team, from Alfa Romeo to Stake F1 Team, is probably one of the most prominent pieces of news in recent months. The “new” team will seek to improve on its ninth-place finish from the previous season, facing many challenges, especially in terms of the aerodynamic efficiency of its car, after starting the 2022 season strongly. The 2024 car will be unveiled on February 5, the first of the F1 presentations for the new year. Along with Stake F1 Team, Williams will also present its car on February 5, after a decent year finishing in seventh place behind Alpine but ahead of AlphaTauri, despite the good form of the Faenza-based team towards the end of the season. Alexander Albon was one of the protagonists of the season at Grove, and more is expected from Logan Sargeant in 2024.
Scuderia Ferrari will unveil its single-seater on February 13, and the Project 676 will officially debut on February 21 in the pre-season tests in Bahrain. A few months after last year’s presentation, which included a Filming Day at Fiorano, it was discovered that engineers had already noticed discrepancies between simulations and the track on the private circuit. This was after a winter of bold statements and confidence heading into 2023. This year, Ferrari has adopted a much more conservative approach in terms of statements, despite already knowing something about the new Red car, and it will be the track in Bahrain that will speak directly. Aston Martin will present the new AMR24 on February 12, one day before Scuderia Ferrari, hoping to correct the flaws of the previous car and get back to the front group after a challenging and inconsistent second part of the season in terms of performance.
