New Scuderia Ferrari team principal Frederic Vasseur is impressing his staff following his first five weeks at the top of the Ferrari Formula 1 Racing Division. The French manager, who joined the Maranello team after six years of leading Alfa Romeo Sauber, seems to be a huge workaholic, who is also doing everything possible to quickly integrate in the Italian environment, according to a recent report from the Italian daily newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Frederic Vasseur replaced Mattia Binotto at the end of the previous Formula 1 championship and has now been working in Maranello for over a month. His first weeks ahead of the 2023 Formula 1 season were marked by working on knowing the staff and his new colleagues, while also focusing on the preparations for the new F1 campaign, starting with the official presentation of the SF-23 challenger, which is scheduled to take place next Tuesday, when Fred Vasseur will be fully in the spotlight for the first time in his position as Ferrari team boss.
As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Fred Vasseur is settling into the Ferrari role very well. In the short time working for the most most successful Formula 1 team, the Frenchman has already managed to fully win over the staff. After all, everyone calls him by his first name ‘Fred’, not ‘Mr Vasseur’. Every morning the French manager arrives at work very early, even before 7 AM and only leaves his office after 12 hours of work, when it has long gone dark again.
The former Alfa Romeo boss does not just fill his days with meetings, he also spends a lot of time working on improving his Italian language. At least four times a week, a private tutor comes to Maranello to teach the Frenchman the secrets of Italian. He immediately puts that knowledge into practice, as Frederic Vasseur often finds himself in the factory, among the, engineers, mechanics, designers and the rest of the Maranello staff, working on finalizing all the details for the 2023 project.

Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport, which several times proved to be very critical of Ferrari when mistakes were made, this time wanted to praise the new Ferrari team principal, at least for now thanks to his accessibility, his commitment and the human relationships he proved able to keep. He is always willing to talk to everyone, often with a quip in his words. In short, with Frederic Vasseur at the top of the Ferrari Racing Division, calm has returned to Maranello. Bring on the new season!
