Why Lewis Hamilton will do well in Maranello according to Ferrari team boss Fred Vasseur. Fred Vasseur shared new insights into Lewis Hamilton's move to Ferrari.

Fred Vasseur shared new insights into Lewis Hamilton’s move to Ferrari and how they are preparing for his coexistence with Charles Leclerc.

Fred Vasseur knows that Lewis Hamilton’s transition to Ferrari and his partnership with Charles Leclerc could mark a turning point for Maranello. Months after the historic signing of the seven-time world champion, the Ferrari team principal spoke again in an interview with the Italian daily newspaper La Repubblica about the situation and how they are preparing for the new driver duo.

“Lewis Hamilton’s arrival means a lot for us. It will be a breath of fresh air. His experience in this world will be emblematic of his work. Let’s not forget that, along with Fernando Alonso, Lewis is the most experienced driver on the grid. Not that the others aren’t experienced, but it’s obvious that his approach is very different,” Fred Vasseur explains.

“For me, it’s not just about driving and being on track but also about Lewis’s entire approach to racing. It means a great deal, and I’m sure this will benefit all of Ferrari. He is one of those drivers who knows how to put pressure on the team to achieve excellence.” – the French manager pointed out.

“I didn’t have to convince him to come to Maranello. It was already an idea he had for some time, which has now come to fruition. He chose not to renew with Mercedes and to follow what was his goal. Let’s just say that the planets aligned, and here we are, telling this story,” continues the French engineer.

Finally, Fred Vasseur touches on the delicate issue of the relationship with Charles Leclerc. “I don’t ask my drivers to be best friends. I don’t go out to dinner with all my colleagues and expect them to be my friends. Despite this, I believe that Charles and Lewis are already getting close and are taking steps to get to know each other gradually.” Then he jokes: “They are currently experiencing a honeymoon phase to get closer.”
