Let’s take a look at the weather forecast for the 2022 United States Grand Prix (latest weather forecast for Austin):
One of the most important factors ahead of any Formula 1 Grand Prix weekend is of course represented by the weather conditions, which can have a great impact on the outcome of the race. From the Formula 1 teams’ point of view, different weather conditions can result in very different races, and Formula 1 teams are always focused on this aspect in order to evaluate and choose their strategy options accordingly, for example using different tyres in wet conditions, and taking account of cross winds which can cause stability problems at high speeds.
This means that we should always keep on eye out on the weather before any Formula 1 Grand Prix weekend given the fact that it can often throw a curve ball into the mix. However, this time Austin seems to be a straightforward weekend, at least for Saturday and Sunday, when the main events take place.
After the two previous round of the 2022 Formula 1 season, the Singapore Grand Prix and the Japanese Grand Prix, were affected by rain, conditions now seem ideal head of the 2022 United States Grand Prix weekend: Sunny, warm and pleasant conditions are expected for Sunday’s race at the Circuit of the Americas, with temperatures of about 32-33° for the entire race weekend and Pirelli tyres will once again be a key factor as all teams will be looking to identify the ideal setup to bring the tyres in the optimal working window. Ferrari will be hoping to avoid the overheating issues, which has led to a lot of degradation for the F1-75 cars in this second part of the season. The qualifying session on Saturday and the practice sessions on Friday should also take place in dry conditions, with plenty of sunshine expected for the Texas weekend.
