Let’s take a look at the weather forecast for the 2022 Mexican Grand Prix (latest weather forecast for Mexico City):
One of the key aspects ahead of any Formula 1 Grand Prix weekend is of course represented by the weather conditions, which can have a huge impact on the outcome of the race on Sunday. From the Formula 1 teams’ point of view, different weather conditions may lead to very different races, and Formula 1 teams are always focused on this aspect in order to evaluate and choose their strategy options accordingly, for example using different tyres in wet or mixed conditions, and taking account of cross winds which can cause stability problems at high speeds.
This means that we should always keep on eye out on the weather before any Formula 1 Grand Prix weekend given the fact that it can often throw a curve ball into the mix. However, this time Mexico City seems to be a straightforward weekend, at least for Saturday, when the main events take place.
The Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez is situated within the Magdalena Mixhuca Sports City public park to the southeast of Mexico City, but what does the weather forecast show for the 2022 Formula 1 Mexican Grand Prix this weekend?
As you would expect for Practice 1 and Practice 2 on Friday it will be mostly sunny with temperatures reaching 27 degrees Celsius, with some cloudy conditions during the afternoon, but FP1 and FP2 will be dry as there is a very low chance of rain for Friday at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez.
However, Saturday’s practice session and qualifying may see different conditions to those on Friday. Temperatures will reach around 25 degrees Celsius and a shower is forecasted in the afternoon, which may affect the qualifying session in Mexico City, leading to some surprises on the grid.
Sunday’s Formula 1 Mexican Grand Prix, will see similar temperatures, around 26 degrees Celsius, compared to the previous days, and while the day will be partially cloudy, any chance of rain seems to be dissipated at this moment and the race itself should take place in dry conditions:
