Following almost three months of winter break in Formula 1, we are finally close to the moment we will see the 2023 F1 cars on track at the Bahrain International Circuit, first for the official pre-season testing session which takes place in Sakhir this week and then for the first round of the new Formula 1 season.
Scuderia Ferrari, alongside the rest of the nine teams, will get the chance to test their new cars throughout the course of three days between Thursday 23 February and Saturday 25 February.
Here is all you need to know about the 2023 Formula 1 pre-season testing session.
What time do the Formula 1 pre-season test days start?
This year teams will have even less time available to test their challengers as compared to 2022, because last season the sport introduced the completely new rules and technical regulation which meant teams needed more time to understand the cars. Now only six sessions will take place ahead of the 2023 Formula 1 campaign, which will be divided into three days of action at the Bahrain International Circuit in Sakhir.
On Thursday (23 February) the cars will hit the track from the pit lane for the first time starting with 07:00 GMT (local time in Bahrain will be 10:00).
As is usually the case, teams will have an hour lunch break each day between 11:15 and 12:15 GMT (in the hope that there are no technical issues they have to fix or work on). During this time, teams principals and drivers will take part in press conferences to answer various questions from the media.
