Qatar makes its Formula One debut this weekend as part of a Middle East run to end a record-breaking campaign. Most famous for hosting MotoGP events, the high-speed and flowing Losail Circuit has international pedigree. It will be a step into the unknown for the field, who have no relevant experience of the circuit.

From the Formula 1 teams’ point of view, different weather conditions can result in very different races, and Formula 1 teams adapt their strategy accordingly, for example using different tyres in wet conditions, and taking account of cross winds which can cause stability problems at high speeds. It is always well worth checking the weather before any grand prix as it can often throw a curve ball into the mix, yet this time Qatar seems to be a straightforward weekend. Conditions appear perfect ahead of the 2021 Qatar Grand Prix weekend: the free practice sessions, the qualifying session on Saturday and the race on Sunday should take place in dry conditions if we look at the current predictions, while the temperatures should be constant throughout the weekend: about 28-30 degrees are expected, which should make things interesting regarding tyre management at the Losail International Circuit:
