The Losail International Circuit will host the Qatar Grand Prix, which is the 20th round of the 2021 Formula 1 World Championship.
The facility took just one year to build and was officially inaugurated back in 2004. Situated not far from the capital Doha, it is a modern track which rapidly became a highpoint of the MotoGP calendar and will now host a Formula 1 event for the very first time. The track boasts an impressive lighting system for perfect night time racing, while the track itself is surrounded by synthetic turf, designed to prevent the desert sand blowing onto it. The track is 5.380 kilometres long and features 16 corners, ten to the right and six to the left. The long 1.068 kilometre main straight means there is no lack of overtaking opportunities.
The Losail International Circuit track opens its gates to Formula 1 for the very first time this weekend to host the Qatar Grand Prix. Major events under its belt have been Qatar motorcycle, Grand Prix GP2 Asia, SpeedCar, SBK 8 Hours of Doha FIA WTCC Race of Qatar.
