The 30th of April to the 2nd of May 2021 will see us return for the third race weekend of the Formula 1 season. The F1 Portugal 2021 Grand Prix will be held at the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve, known more colloquially as Portimao, named after the port city it sits half an hour outside of. It was opened in the autumn of 2008, with the construction of the permanent facility completed in just seven months, at the reported cost of €195 million.

From the Formula 1 teams’ point of view, different weather conditions can result in very different races, and Formula 1 teams adapt their strategy accordingly, for example using different tyres in wet conditions, and taking account of cross winds which can cause stability problems at high speeds. It is always well worth checking the weather before any grand prix as it can often throw a curve ball into the mix, although this time Portimao will most likely be a straightforward weekend. Conditions appear excellent ahead of the 2021 Portuguese Grand Prix weekend. The temperature for race day is expected to be around 21-22 degrees, while according to the latest forecast, there is no chance of rain for Friday, Saturday or Sunday evening. The Portimao weekend will most likely place in dry conditions.
