The historic Imola returned to the Formula 1 calendar amid the Covid-19 changes of the 2020 seasn now we are back and it’s time to get up to speed with everything you need to know about the 2021 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, which takes place over 63 laps of the 4.959-kilometre Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari, former home of the San Marino GP, on Sunday, April 18.
2021 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix weather forecast (Weather Imola):
It’s finally race week again after two weeks of waiting, and that means we can get ready for the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix. At the circuit in Imola the teams and drivers set foot in Europe early, and in April that doesn’t always mean warm temperatures. That appears to be the case for the first European race of this season.
Rain in Imola
While the Bahrain Grand Prix is held in the evening to allow for some normal driving conditions, it was still warmer than this weekend in Imola. Friday, Saturday and Sunday it won’t be warmer than 14 degrees Celsius during the day, and in the evening not more than six degrees Celsius.
Fortunately, the race weekend is during the day, but the teams will have to adapt to the lower temperatures, and it will be interesting to see who does that best. Sunday will be especially exciting, as rain is expected for the day of the race. With a 68% chance of rain, the teams will need to bring rain tyres for this Imola weekend.
