The 2022 Formula 1 Bahrain Grand Prix was held on 20 March at the Bahrain International Circuit in Sakhir, a motor racing circuit located in the west of Bahrain. The event was the first round of the 2022 Formula One World Championship and it was the eighteenth running of the Bahrain Grand Prix.
Scuderia Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc started from pole position and won the Bahrain Grand Prix, taking his first victory since the 2019 Italian Grand Prix. The Ferrari man led almost every lap of the race, except for two laps after pitting for a second time, therefore coming very close to a Grand Slam. Charles Leclerc secured a hat-trick with pole, race victory, and fastest lap of the race, making it a memorable Sunday. The perfect weekend for the Maranello team was completed by Carlos Sainz, who finished the race in second place, ahead of the Mercedes of Lewis Hamilton.
