In a 2022 Formula 1 campaign everyone was tipping to be a massive development race with all-new rules – Scuderia Ferrari is currently leading both championships ahead of the Miami Grand Prix, without upgrading its car at all so far.
The F1-75 car was able to score two victories in the first four events this season, despite pretty much existing in its launch specification, give or take some circuit-specific downforce configurations. Rival Red Bull has already introduced one big upgrade during testing and it has started a big weight-saving exercise as well, which was clear in Imola.
So the pressure is on Ferrari to respond at some point – but it’s sticking to its original plan for now.
