As the focus now turns to the British Grand Prix, which takes place next weekend at the Silverstone circuit, Formula one technical journalist covering all F1 rounds since 1997, Paolo Filisetti, gave the lowdown on Scuderia Ferrari’s latest development updates in a recent report for RacingNews365
As Paolo Filisetti points out, the Silverstone circuit is always seen as a key moment of a Formula 1 championship mainly because of its position on the F1 calendar, preceding the Austrian Grand Prix by just seven days, the 11th of 22 events, that means we are reaching the the exact halfway point of the 2022 Formula 1 campaign.
The Nothamptonshire track is very a technical one, marked by fast changes of direction such as the well-known Maggotts, Becketts and Chapel corners which the 2022 Formula 1 challengers will face for the first time given the track characteristics of the previous venues. There is a good chance that the speeds of the new generation of Formula 1 cars through that section of the Silverstone circuit will be a lot higher than in the last few years as a result of the downforce generated by the current floors which is based on the ground effect.
With one week ahead of the British Grand Prix, Technical Analyst Paolo Filisetti takes a look at the changes made by Scuderia Ferrari to their F1-75 car as they target a race win at Silverstone:

Rear wing used by Charles Leclerc in Canada
In direct comparison with the previous rear wing used by Carlos Sainz, it is clear that the trailing edge of the flap has been rounded, and at the same time, the depth of the central spoon of the main profile has been reduced, to lower drag.

Ferrari F1-75 floor and diffuser
The floor and the diffuser are two elements that are part of the package that will be introduced at Silverstone. The goal is to increase the efficiency of the car for the same downforce generated. In parallel, the aim is to manage porpoising in order to further reduce the ride height.
