Charles Leclerc, in Bahrain a DNF that hurts him and Ferrari
Charles Leclerc’s retirement in Bahrain will certainly not be decisive for Scuderia Ferrari’s season, which has just begun, just as Max Verstappen’s retirement in 2022 did not prevent the Dutchman from dominating the world championship. The current Formula 1 president wanted to give the Monegasque some advice on how to manage this moment delicate.

“If frustration enters the mental aspect of a great sportsman, then there are other problems. I believe that a great athlete must have the personality to be a point of reference within a team especially in a moment of difficulty. It is clear Charles understands that this are important. 2023 is a decisive year for him and therefore he expects the team to provide him with a car that is the best, just as he must claim from himself not to make any kind of mistake, because otherwise the problem becomes even bigger“ – former Scuderia Ferrari boss Stefano Domenicali said, in an interview for sports news program shown Sport Mediaset.
“I believe that this is certainly a very important phase for Charles, for his Formula 1 future, but he must also be very pragmatic in seeing that winning with Ferrari certainly has an extraordinary and unique meaning, but other teams at the moment maybe they cannot give him a chance to compete for victory. So right now there must be maximum concentration to work as a driving force within a team that has to go through a period that is certainly not easy“ – Formula 1 president Stefano Domenicali concluded.
