Stefano Domenicali has described the 2026 Italian Grand Prix as an experience capable of engaging all the senses, with around 300,000 spectators expected at Monza from 4 to 6 September. Sunday has already sold out, while Ferrari’s recent success and the growing enthusiasm surrounding Kimi Antonelli could drive further late demand for tickets.
With the British Grand Prix recently completed and Charles Leclerc’s victory delivering Ferrari’s 250th Formula 1 win, attention is already turning towards the forthcoming rounds of the championship. Stefano Domenicali will continue following the paddock across Europe, but the Formula 1 CEO is already looking forward to the Italian Grand Prix at the historic Autodromo Nazionale Monza.
Stefano Domenicali expects an unforgettable 2026 Italian Grand Prix
ACI president Geronimo La Russa presented the event during a press conference, with Stefano Domenicali joining remotely to address the assembled media. The Formula 1 CEO emphasised that a modern Grand Prix must offer far more than the sporting action taking place on the circuit.
“Formula 1 has now entered the experiential sphere; it captures the senses,” Stefano Domenicali said. “We have just completed an event that welcomed almost half a million people, although the figure itself is not what matters. I know that Sunday is now sold out, and we will continue working in synergy with the ACI and the circuit to create an unforgettable occasion.”
“Italy is also experiencing a positive moment, thanks to the performances of Ferrari and Kimi Antonelli, who has brought a breath of fresh air.”
Approximately 300,000 people from across the world are expected inside Monza Park during the race weekend. Given the latest results achieved by Ferrari and Kimi Antonelli, the organisers believe additional supporters could still decide to purchase available tickets at the last minute. Fans planning to attend can find further information about the Ferrari GP Club experience at Monza, while the race forms a crucial part of the wider 2026 Formula 1 calendar.
Italian GP to combine motorsport, art and music
Geronimo La Russa also highlighted the relationship between art and motorsport, the central theme of the Italian Grand Prix presentation. Both are considered important expressions of the creativity and excellence that have helped make Italy famous around the world.
“Adding a cultural and musical event to the Grand Prix is a strength that will make the race great on both a national and international level,” the ACI president added in the presence of Italian tenor Francesco Meli, who will perform the national anthem at Monza.
