The wild qualifications at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez have delivered a surprise front row with both positions occupied by Ferrari drivers, with Charles Leclerc starting ahead of his teammate Carlos Sainz. Let’s take a look at the complete starting grid for the Mexican GP.
Max Verstappen, who was defeated, will start in third place but can look forward to the start with optimism, considering that, on this track, starting from behind has often proven advantageous at the first corner. However, there is an investigation pending against the Dutchman for stopping in the pit lane during Q1.
An exceptional Daniel Ricciardo claimed the fourth position, showcasing great speed throughout the weekend, which is his second Grand Prix after his injury to the left wrist. Sergio Perez took the fifth position, showing improvement in qualifying compared to the recent disastrous weekends.
In sixth place is Hamilton, who is also under investigation for not slowing down during a yellow flag period, while Oscar Piastri is in seventh. George Russell is eighth, but he’s also under investigation for stopping at the pit lane exit and not adhering to the outlap time limit.

The ninth and tenth positions are occupied by the two Alfa Romeo drivers, with Bottas starting ahead of Zhou. The sixth row is taken by Pierre Gasly and Nico Hulkenberg, while the seventh row features Fernando Alonso and Alexander Albon. The Thai driver had his time invalidated in Q2, relegating him to the fourteenth position.
Esteban Ocon takes the fifteenth place with the other Alpine, and Kevin Magnussen is sixteenth. Stroll is seventeenth, once again eliminated in Q1, and the eighteenth position goes to the biggest disappointment of the day, Lando Norris. Yuki Tsunoda and Logan Sargeant round out the grid, with the latter penalized after qualifying.
